High winds prompted a temporary shutdown at the Electric Daisy Carnival early Sunday morning.
Stages for the event, a three-night festival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, were shut down just before 1 a.m. Early reports indicated the show would start up again when the winds subsided. Weather reports indicated winds over 30 mph as a cold front moved south through the Las Vegas Valley.
It was unclear if organizer Insomniac Events stopped the show, or if officials ordered the shutdown.
High winds collapsed a stage in Indiana last summer, killing five people and injuring dozens at the Indiana State Fair.
News of the shutdown spread quickly on Twitter, but no details were immediately available from official sources. Reports described a “sandstorm” at the site.
